Mediation update: CEA and district make progress on contract negotiations

The negotiating teams for both the Central Education Association and the district made progress last night toward finding compromises on a contract.

In their first mediation session, which lasted about 6 hours, the teams worked through about half of the remaining open articles. While no tentative agreements were reached, both teams have scheduled further mediation sessions with the state mediator.

The district is grateful for the state mediation tool and feels optimistic that mediation will help us come to a fair contract for our CEA members.
